Ray was born in Westerly, RI and raised in North Stonington, CT. He
became a Christian when he was nine years old. At nineteen, Ray felt the
Lord calling him to the ministry. He graduated from Bob Jones University
with a B.A. in Bible in 1995. Upon graduating from Calvary Baptist
Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2000, he returned home to start this
church with his wife and family. Most recently, Ray graduated with a Master
of Theology in New Testament from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
in Hamilton, MA.
Ray has a passion for preaching God’s Word. He enjoys studying God’s
Word and communicating it in a way that is easily applicable to everyday
life. He prefers to preach verse-by-verse through the individual books of
the Bible, but he does take time to preach through topics that are of
particular relevance to the life of the church and culture.
Ray and his wife, Lori, have known each other since the sixth grade. By
God’s grace, they have been married for nearly 30 years. They are the
proud parents of four adult children, Kara, Kailey, Krista and Trey, and their
Ray enjoys playing pickup basketball, reading theology and biographies,
teaching on short-term overseas mission trips and spending time with his
